Tyler Perry Is Fucking With Us
I have to fess up to the fact that I missed this the first time through myself. He is a much better actor than he is given credit for, so I firmly believe Tyler Perry is fucking with us, and he probably has been for years. At least since he made the deal with Netflix, virtually eliminating any real risk of loss for any movie he puts out. At that point, he could just screw around and play games with his audience to see what happens. He really wanted to see how we would respond to him pouring syrup on shit and calling it pancakes. So he put out his latest Netflix release Mea Culpa to find out. So here’s what happened: we bitched, we roasted and we whined non-stop for days on social media; but we still watched in huge numbers and made his wealth and influence grow. So he called it ‘pancakes’ and his audience chowed down.
Tyler Perry is not the hapless writer and bumbling director he is pretending to be. Frankly I don’t think it is possible to be as bad as Mea Culpa would suggest. He meant for that movie to be a steaming pile stinking up your den in high definition. I’ll bet you didn’t know that your new high end TV can actually emit odors until you watched the final fifteen minutes of that movie, where I think dude finally…
